Mahmoud began his career in banking in 1977, when he joined Arab African International Bank (AAIB), rising to become Deputy General Manager and Group Treasurer before leaving after a 20-year run to join HSBC Securities Egypt, where he was Managing Director. Mahmoud was later Vice Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) from 2004 until June 2007. An elected member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), he is also Honorary Chairman of both the Cairo FOREX Association and the INTERARAB CAMBIST Association. Mahmoud’s track record includes establishing and managing the first international dealing room in Egypt as well as the first international securities brokerage house in Egypt, which he led to become the third-ranked firm in the business. Throughout his career, he has participated in training initiatives at HSBC London, UBS London, JP Morgan, Marine Midland Bank London, Merrill Lynch London and Al-BAAB Bahrain. A lifelong supporter of Al-Ahly, Mahmoud is a passionate supporter of the privatization of Egyptian sports clubs.

Hazem has more than 15 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking in the MENA region. Hazem has played a significant role in turning around CI Capital to be the premium investment bank in Egypt since he joined in January 2013. Since then, CI Capital has won the “Best Investment Bank in Egypt” award by EMEA finance and Global Finance for two consecutive years, 2013-14.
Prior to joining CI Capital Hazem had a nine-year career at EFG-Hermes, where he played a notable role as a senior executive in growing the EFG franchise into the largest investment bank in the MENA region. Hazem held numerous key positions at EFG Hermes including CEO of EFG Hermes for the Levant, and Managing Director for Investment Banking.
Hazem holds a BA in business administration from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and has successfully attended the Investment Appraisal, Project Finance and Risk Analysis Program at the Harvard Institute for International Development.
Hazem sits on the board of Directors of CI Capital Holding, CorpLease, as well as Maridive Oil Services; a listed oil services group.

Tarek brings more than 17 years of financial and leadership experience to CI Capital team. During his career he has successfully led companies to sales growth, business expansion, operational efficiency, and significant profitability. Tarek brings the experience and expertise to meet these challenges through a proven record of operational leadership, strategy development, team building, financial management and relationship management.
Prior to joining CI Capital Tarek held several senior roles in leading Egyptian companies including CEO and Managing Director of Telecom Egypt, VP& CFO Telecom Egypt, CFO of IDJ-Beyti (a JV of Almarai & Pepsico), Vice President in the investment banking division of Sigma capital and Senior Consultant in the corporate finance division of FinRate Consulting. During his career, Tarek has led the execution of several landmark equity and debt transactions including the privatization of Telecom Egypt through an international IPO (c. US$ 900mn), acquisition of a 45% stake in Vodafone Egypt (c. US$ 1bn) in addition to raising more than 1.5 billion US$ though local and international markets through bond offerings and syndicated loans. Tarek was also responsible for managing a portfolio of investments in excess of EGP 15bn. He was also involved in several corporate restructuring and successful turn-around assignments of several companies in Egypt in the telecom, IT and FMCG sectors.
Tarek has served on several boards for publically listed and private companies including Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, IDJ-Beyti, TE Data and Technology Development Fund.
Tarek Holds a BSc. In construction engineering from the American university in Cairo, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in the UK and he is also a CFA charterholder. Tarek has also attended executive education programs in Kellogg Graduate School of Management in the USA and IESA Business School in Spain.

Prior to joining CI Capital in 2010, Khaled was Managing Director of HC Brokerage, having previously served as Senior Vice President for GCC Brokerage at Global Investment House (Kuwait), where he was responsible for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain. He was earlier Executive General Manager at Abu Dhabi Financial Services Company (ADFS) and Chief Executive for Brokerage at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. Khaled held senior positions at a number of international and regional financial institutions prior to joining ADFS, having previously been Head of the Operations Sectors for the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges; a Director in the Trading Department at EFG-Hermes; and a member of the dealing room and treasury team at CIB. Khaled has worked with regulatory authorities to establish market practices governing local share conversions to depositary receipts; codes of corporate governance; intraday trading; disclosure; setting of circuit breakers; OTC trading; omnibus accounts; and primary dealers. He has served as a lecturer for training programs at the Egyptian Capital Markets Authority, the Egyptian Exchange, Banque du Cairo, Banque Misr and the Egyptian Police Academy. Khaled received his BA in Commerce with a major in accounting from Ain Shams University and holds a diploma from Saint George's College, Egypt.
Head of Investment Banking
Hesham has more than 13 years of experience in investment banking and private equity in the MENA region, having worked across the regional financial markets of Dubai, Jeddah and Cairo. Prior to CI Capital, Hesham was a senior banker at Beltone Financial where he oversaw equity and M&A transactions including the largest IPO executed in Egypt in 2010. He was previously Head of Principal Investments at Shuaa Capital, based in Dubai (where he managed the firm’s USD 400 million investment portfolio) and was earlier Director of Principal Investments and member of the Investment Committee at Dubai Capital Group, the MENA-focused investment arm of Dubai Holding. During that time, Hesham helped create and managed a multi-sector, multi-asset class portfolio of investments across the region valued at USD 1 billion. He led several landmark transactions for the firm, including its participation in EFC, in what was the largest LBO transaction in the history of the MENA region. Hesham was also a banker with Swicorp, where he advised regional and international institutions and family offices in M&A as well as debt and equity financings out of Jeddah and Cairo. He has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Investment Committee for the Government of Dubai’s Education Endowment Fund. Hesham is a graduate of the American University in Cairo with a BA in Economics and completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School.
Managing Director - Investment Banking
Salah joins CI Capital with more than 10 years of transactional and operational experience, most recently as CFO of Sixth of October Development & Investment Company (SODIC) and member of the company's Board & Executive Committee. During his tenure at SODIC, Salah contributed in developing the SODIC franchise into a leading real estate developer in Egypt, with one of the strongest brands in the market and a highly institutionalized governance and management structure. Prior to SODIC, Salah was with EFG-Hermes Investment Banking, where he worked on a number of high profile transactions including the US$ 1.0bn acquisition of Al Watany Bank of Egypt, the US$ 710m private placement of Solidere International and the US$ 981m acquisition of Vodafone by Telecom Egypt.
Managing Director and Head of Asset Management
As head of the asset management team, Amr oversees a team of more than 20 professionals. Amr has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the field of equities, debt, and alternative investments, having previously served as General Manager and Head of Investment at Banque du Cairo (Egypt), where he was also a member of the ALCO Investment and Executive Committees in addition to chairing the bank’s Mutual Fund Supervisory Committee. Amr was earlier Executive Director and Managing Director of a number of local and international investment banks including HC Securities & Investment and ING Bank Netherlands (London and Dubai), where he headed both equity and fixed-income research and investment strategy for MENA markets. He also co-managed DAMAC Invest’s USD 2 billion equity fund in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. Amr has also served as a senior consultant to the Central Bank of Egypt on privatization, M&A and asset management for state-owned banks and was a voting member in a number of Egyptian State Privatization Committees. He began his professional career with stints at Arab Bank NSGB. Amr holds an MBA from Birmingham Business School, UK and was awarded accreditation from the Securities Investment Institute of the United Kingdom, where he previously advised UK-based clients on financial investments.
Head of Research
Karim has 14 years of experience in research covering the MENA region. Prior to joining CI Capital, he was successful in establishing a MENA research platform for another leading regional broker whereby the team was ranked seventh in Thomson Reuters’ 2011 Extel survey. He was earlier a senior analyst at HSBC for 10 years working in Cairo, London and Dubai across a range of sectors, having covered construction, financials and insurance prior to specializing in telecoms starting in 2002.

Ahmed joined CI Capital Securities Brokerage in 2010 as Head of Operations after a 14-year track record with EFG-Hermes Securities Brokerage, during which time he held a range of senior positions. After joining the EFG-Hermes operations department, he went on to serve as Head of Operations in Egypt in 2001 prior to being tapped to serve as Head of Operations for Saudi Arabia in 2006. Ahmed began his career in the banking industry with Arab National bank. He holds a BA in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University.
